Raith Rovers have seen their Chairman resign after their play off semi final defeat to Alloa Athletic at Starks Park.

The Kirkcaldy Club  announced at 6pm on Saturday that Chairman Alan Young has resigned with immediate effect.

Speaking to www.raithrovers.net Mr Young said:

“I have today tendered my resignation as Chairman of Raith Rovers. I have also resigned as a Director.

I take full responsibility for our failure to return to the Championship this year and would wish the Club all success for the future”

Raith blew promotion on the last day of the regular season by failing to defeat Alloa [ 0-0 ] which allowed Ayr Utd to take the title and then the Fifers lost home and away to the Wasps in the resultant play off.
